Bio

Marguerita Merrick received an M.A. in Shakespeare from the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon and has written an M.Phil thesis on modernist poetry at the University of London. She also holds a B.A. in English literature from Columbia University. Since completing her graduate degree, she has worked with 11th and 12th graders throughout the college application process. She tutors students in academic coursework and has developed a complete standardized test program for the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SHSAT, GRE, and Regents.

 

Having worked with a number of top test prep agencies, she has established the most effective strategies to raise scores and improve test taking ability. She has helped many students gain admittance into top-tier colleges. She also does admissions coaching for 11th and 12th graders and works with seniors, helping them write effective and compelling college essays and supplements. Most recently she taught essay writing in Paris, and she is currently working with aspiring medical school students, helping them develop their application essays.
